An rp without a plot

This is probably the broadest and largest roleplaying idea I have ever had. It will span many locations, with many things happening. The twist, is that it does not have a plot. Your task as a roleplayer taking part in it is just to create a group of adventurers, or join with other fellow members of the Gateway to form a group, which will in turn explore the many locations, slaying monsters and discovering new things.

What is the role of the adventurers?
Seeking lost treasures, slaying dangerous monsters, rescuing people in need, tracking down criminals, and multiple other roles will be filled by your group.

What is the point of this roleplay?
It may sound like a sort of MMO it a broad sense, but it allows the freedom of creation that roleplaying offers. Locations will be updated with quests that can be taken by different groups, and when those quests and requests are fulfilled, another might pop up somewhere else, events might change the appearance of a location, etc.

This is all I have for now. I will plan playable races, technology limits and such, but I will give leeway to people if their characters are acceptable.
